For the 3rd year in a row the readers of the Austin Chronicle have voted Taco Shack as their choice for BEST TACO! This year we also held our honorable mention for BEST MEXICAN BREAKFAST and picked up a new honorable mention for Best Taqueria.

Thanks to Readers of the Daily Texan as well! We were also voted as having the Best Breakfast Taco and have been given the honor to be put on the "UT Most" list!

McCallum WINS the Taco Shack Bowl!
 Congratulations to McCallum High School. Anderson and McCallum battled in the Taco Shack Bowl on Friday August 26th in a classic rivalry competition. McCallum led it 20-14 in the fourth and they would add to it in the closing minute of the game with a touchdown run. McCallum won 27-14. Congrats!

Taco Shack is Excited about the Austin Wranglers!
Taco Shack we be at the Austin Wranglers games featuring the "Tortilla Toss" at Half Time. Participants will be randomly selected from the crowd and whoever can throw, fling, zip, or toss their tortilla the furthest will receive a prize. So bring the whole family out to the Austin Wranglers arena football games at the Frank Erwin center for a Great time.

We will also be featuring a 32oz. souvenir cup with the Taco Shack and Austin Wranglers logos. Stay tuned!

Congratulations to McCallum for winning the
3rd Annual TACO SHACK BOWL!

Get ready for this historic rivalry between two of Austin’s oldest high schools, McCallum (Taco Shack #1) vs. Anderson (Taco Shack #2). Both Schools will adorn their local Taco Shack with their respective school's colors and decorations and a local television personality will award the best design. So come on out and support your community.

Canned food donations will also be taken to support the Capital Area Food Bank. Donation barrels will be available at each schools location as well as at local Taco Shacks; north Lamar, Medical Parkway, Spicewood Springs, and Frost Towers locations.

Taco Shack is proud to announce that Austin area Coca Cola and Frost Bank will be underwriting the Taco Shack Bowl.

Introducing Freddie Frijole
Say hello to the newest member of the Taco Shack family, Freddie Frijole! He recently jumped out of a bean and cheese taco, but he was so cute, we just couldn't put him back. We even made him our new mascot. So keep an eye out for Freddie as he will be helping us with all our events including the 3rd Annual Taco Shack Bowl.

Taco Shack wins “Best in Show” at Italian Chalk Art Festival
Congratulations to Taco Shack‘s mural artist Neil Cronk. With his entry into Central Market‘s Italian Chalk Art Festival Taco Shack took home the award for “Best in Show” and “Best Illusion.” Thanks Neil!

Taco Shack helped sponsor Austin's 3rd annual Italian Chalk Art Festival. It was a free event held at Central Market, across the street from Taco Shack at 4002 North Lamar, May 8th, 2004.
